    Homework: 

    Read and annotate Harriet Jacobs (with focus on use of detail and comparison) and France Harper (with focus on pronoun usage and understanding how to anticipate responses to unspoken questions within the passage)—Students are to write a rhetorical analysis essay that focuses on the use of tone in comparison to both Jacobs and Harper

    Students read, annotated, and analyzed the pieces by the Raspberry, Steinem, DuBois in class focusing on language development through tone, diction, connotation, rhetorical appeals, allusion, pov and shifts.

    –Homework–Read and annotate the Sa piece then write a rhetorical analysis essay focusing on the use of the rhetorical appeals from all 4 writers–You MUST include direct textual evidence cited  in proper MLA format

    –Homework–read Addams, Sandburg, and wing focusing on chunking, diction, author’s attitude, tone argument—complete the questions for the Socratic, and the novel The Awakening and USA test prep.
