    students began reading and annotating Winthrop’s piece (see handouts) focusing on diction, tone, syntax, style and figurative language –with the placement of identifying evidence to support responses

    Students continued the discussion of Winthrop focusing on language, tone, diction, syntax and style

    –Homework–Read Bradford and annotate for the same language components as Winthrop and then write a brief paragraph comparing the language style of the the two authors——–USA Test prep

    students were supposed to begin discussion over Mary Rowlandson, but since more than half the class did not complete the assignment for Bradford that was due, only a small handful worked on Rowlandson while the rest worked to complete Bradford.

    –Homework–USA TEST PREP—you are to annotate Rowlandson’s “A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson” Page one to the end of the 2nd remove and the 19th Remove—Annotations ARE due in class tomorrow in order to discuss and move forward with the next steps for Rowlandson and Rhetorical analysis
