students read and annotated and analyzed “Walden” and “Civil Disobedience” (hyperbole, language, tone, style, and metaphor) and wrote their own version of “Civil Disobedience” following Thoreau’s style and language but making it modern and to an issue close to them (in the likeness of Thoreau’s passion against the Mexican-American War)
