Students reviewed Whitman’s poem “I Hear America Singing,” Emerson’s piece “Self-Reliance,” and read Thoreau’s “Civil Disobedience” Identifying elements of romaticism and transcedentalism

Students began working on the rough draft of the “Civil Disobedience” Re-write –focusing on modern languge and up-to-date news piece but still invoking the transcendentalist ideals
